390390: My Zebra won’t print any labels. (Didn’t have any problems until today.) It seems my computer is not reconginizing the printer. It doesn’t make any noise when I plug the usb into my computer. Otherwise, everything is showing as fine. The light on the printer is green.

Zebra label printers are great for the small business. However, if they’re used in areas where users like to fiddle with settings and push big shiny buttons, you can find yourself run ragged trying to continuously reset them to factory defaults or your preferred business settings. Fortunately, looking through the manual usually gives a number of reset functions, and it’s possible to combine these into a very fast “shotgun” approach which solves 99% of configuration problems in seconds. Casio ctk 800 manual. As an example, here’s how to do it for the Zebra “LP” 2844.

Driver

Step 1: power reset Switch the printer off using the switch at the back near the power socket. Give it two seconds, then switch it back on. Step 2: reset to factory defaults Hold down the single round button on the front panel. The indicator light will start a flash sequence: 1, 1-2, 1-2-3, and so on. When it flashes four times, release it. This resets the printer to factory defaults. Step 3: Label width calibration Hold down the button until the light flashes five times, then release it.

This will make the printer enter label width calibration. It will print a series of widths, getting wider each time, on a label. When the printed width matches the label width (or your preferred setting), tap the button once to lock it in. Step 4: All other calibrations Hold down the button until it flashes twice, then release it. This will run an automatic set of calibrations. Conclusion That’s it.

The printer is ready to go! Have you tried printing from a simple text file rather than the browser.

Better yet what about a test print (right click the printer in the Devices and Printers section and select Printer Properties then click test print at the bottom of the general tab). If it prints there you have a browser issue, if it doesn’t you have an issue with the driver. Even though the desktop Zebras are a far cry over the full size models, they are still very robustly reliable - as are USB cables.

Also, in general, while Zebra printers are “hearty”, their drivers are not. I have often used a company called Nice Label in the past. I assume most of you are using direct thermal labels versus thermal transfer w/ribbons.

Written by Derek Stotz Updated over a week ago This guide will walk you through setting up a Zebra LP 2824 Plus thermal label printer to print labels from Springboard Retail via a LAN connection. This printer also supports connecting the printer via USB. Connecting to the Printer The Zebra LP 2824 Plus printer must be connected via ethernet cable to the same local area network (LAN) that the computers or POS stations that you plan to print from are connected to. This usually requires connecting the printer directly to the router via an ethernet cable.

If you require more help, please refer to the manual that came with your printer. Acquiring the Printer's IP Address The printer's IP address can be determined by holding the feed button down until the light around it flashes once. Let go of the feed button.
