It looks like something happened when you became Google+ member. I'm experiencing the same thing exactly! It's quite frustrating, not to mention when I try to open my albums in Picasa, I'm sent to Google+ and I don't USE that account as it was set up on a whim.

On top of all of this, when in Picasa on my computer, clicking the Google+ opens up IE and I thought Picasa, Google, and Chrome were married! I've read several answers to this and have been disappointed because it appears you have to have vast knowledge of code and/or advanced settings to get this to work properly. For me, it's safe to assume that it's not going to happen if it's too complicated. Speak to me in elementary terms, please.:) Hope you find your answer, just wanted to say you aren't alone in this! Jim Unferdorfer 8/6/2013, 20:02 น. This has nothing to do with setting up Google +.

I was never prompted to do that and I don't have a Google + account. I went into Picasa as I normally would a couple of months ago and all of my pictures are gone. I received no email, no online prompting a warning.

I wrote a complaint and got a 'try this link, or try this other link' and when neither worked, I got the sorry but I can't help you anymore response. Seems to me that those in charge know exactly what happened and refuse to answer to us. What's the point of having online storage when those who own the code can just delete your material. And for the record, my account was never suspended either.

It's a way of them blaming us for what they did wrong. Diana Lira 17/6/2013, 20:29 น. I am having the same problem. I had created so many albums on Picasa for a long time. Couple of years ago my hotmail was hacked and was unusable.

So I created the gmail account. When google+ combined gmail, Picasa, etc. To one account, I changed the Picas login to my gmail address (changed it through my logged in account). Now I don't see any of my old albums.

But some of them I have the link and if I click on it, I can see the slideshow. So my albums are somewhere but I can't open them from my Picasa account. It's really frustrating. I have tried so many different things. 8/3/2014, 12:03 น. I am having the same problem.

I used Picassa for work photos and personal. I had forgotten my password and couldn't get in that account because I no longer have that email address. I would love to find the phone number for Google to be able to retrieve all my old photos and combine or move all my photos to one account.

Does anyone have contact information for technical assistance? This has been frustrating for years with Picassa!

J Saxton 29/8/2014, 12:56 น. This may have already been stated above, but I'll repeat it so that folks don't have to read through all the thread. I too was also trying to find my original albums from Picasa. I was finally able to find the original albums in Google Plus 2. The tricky part is Google stores your 'public' facing photos/albums at Picasa and at Google Plus if the photos/albums are 'private' 3. If you have any 'public' facing photos/albums, go to ' to see the url that pertains to stuff you've set to be shared to the Public If you go to that url and see 'This user has no Public Albums. ' message, that likely means you don't have Public photos/albums, which is fine.

For 'private'/not shared stuff, go to ', on the top left hand side, click on the dropdown and go to Photos. Once in Photos section, click on More and then Albums You should then see all the original photo/albums from original Picasa Have fun!

ChicoGela 8/9/2014, 21:02 น. I never set up an picasa account via google+. When I signed up for picasa, it was before google acquired it, so the picasa account info has '. The instructions for recovering the lost albums don't make sense here for those people who had not created a picasa account outside of google+. What am I supposed to do, add ' into my google+ account in order to recover it? I don't want to do that, I want to firewall my google accounts from my accounts.

Isn't there another way to recover the albums other than going through google? I think part of the problem is that we each have slightly different situations so what works for one person does not work for another. One thing I found was that all the cookies you have floating around can cause a problem.

I normally use Firefox, but when I went to IE, I was a 'stranger' and got none of the unwanted 'help' that Firefox and Google were giving me. My problem was that I created my old Picasa album on a different account than what I am using now and which unfortunately is a Google+ account. Firefox refuses to forget my new Google+ account. Anyways, I went to using IE, entered my old account name and password and I got my old albums! I went back to Firefox and brought up a 'Private Window' and it worked as well! I suppose you could clear all cookies, cache, etc on your browser, but I did not want to do that.

Bluetoo 8/11/2014, 19:08 น. Because it looks like my old picasa web albums has different name and password from my current Google+ account, it is causing headaches. Only bug still left is that Picasa won't log me in to my Google+ account.

Picasa will log me in to an otherwise empty account with no photos at all. After getting Picasa to log in and share on some account, uploaded photos, clicked the view on web link and get something like 'you don't have permission'.

Probably have 2 other accounts with photos. Lookign to merge when I can figure out how to get Picasa to log in. Hopefully a Picasa upgrade will fix that.

Andreea Bojinca 9/12/2014, 11:26 น. Havent had my new phone not even for a week and only the pics that i took with this phone are the only albums showing up in picasa had the note 2 for 2 years upgraded to note 4 so two years of pictures arent showing up. Not even that I say 7years because I've had android for 7 years and my photos were backed up through picasa. At least I thought. And even though my google backup photos are showing up from 2012 they are not showing up on picasa.

What is this? RinusA, 21:25 น. I can open my picasa photo album one month ago.

Recently, I can still get to my picasa files ( all albums are still there). But when I click on any individual album, it won't be opened. I found that I can still create new album, but again,it is there but I can not open it.

I did notice that when I clicked my individual album link I saved before, I clicked the link and the pictures showed up in G+. I am afraid that soon I may lose all my valuable picasa files.

I saw some helps mentioning to click Picasa Web Album link etc. When I tried, it got to my picasa files. But again, when I clicked any album, it can not be opened. Do anyone find the solution? If Google moves our picasa to G+, how can we access the G+ files?

I'm kinda in reverse. I took a whack of pics off Picasa just now and emptied the trash all via the computer using Firefox as my browser. Technically, this is supposed to remove them all from my phone and my tablet but the buggers are still there. Both tablet and phone are synched so maybe it's just a delay but jeez this kinda stuff irks me. I get how some people want all things they have synched but rather than just group everything without asking, it would be nice if somewhere, you were asked if you really wanted stuff synched.

I've tried un-synching. Re-starting the tablet and phone and nope. Pics are still there. (ไม่รู้จัก) 23/8/2015, 11:34 น. 23/8/2015, 11:35 น. I'm kinda in reverse.

Surendra amathi 25/8/2015, 20:21 น. Need help finding pictures please. I tried to get into Picasa so that I could move all of my photos to a memory card, I used the link provided in this forum and was taken to a Picasa web page only to find that all photos from the first year of my son's life are not there anymore. I saw numerous posts asking people with the same problem if they have more then one address, I do, so I signed in to Google using my original email and again clicked the Picasa link and was again re routed to the same Picasa page with photos from my current account, my sons birth to 1st birthday (as well as a ton of photos before that) are not there.

I logged out, logged back in with the original email and again was re routed to my current email. I just want to know how to acsess all accounts I may have so that I can save my sons photos into something more secure. Too many people seem to have this probablem to want to keep any of my photos backed up with ant Google product. Can some one please advise how to sign into my different accounts using a Samsung galaxy S5 so I can find my sons baby pictures, this is getting ridiculous and upsetting RinusA 17/9/2015, 4:01 น. I had same problem. But now I have found my pictures. The problem was because I previously had two email accounts, but not in My Google.

Yesterday I tried to resolve a password problem and ended up enrolling both of my emails in My google. When I tried to access my web albums apparently I was signed into the wrong email account. And signed into the email account that was originally linked to the web albums. I went to picassa, selected web albums and all my photos were there as before. Whew, what a relief! I am not a technical person and I find this merging with Google a bit confusing and frustrating as many of you must feel. Paulo Neuparth 28/1/2016, 5:42 น.

I read that solution and I did everything you advise me to do there, and still no pictures. Under my dashboard settings on my google account, under pictures, I have 483 albums to which I only have access to 39 (public) - the other say sign in required (whatever that means). All this while I'm logged in (signed in) into my google account and I don't have any other accounts. In other words, supposedly I have another 444 albums, to which I don't have access to any of them; they're hidden somewhere, and no one is capable or willing to help me out at Google.

Paulo Neuparth Paulo Neuparth 4/3/2016, 18:42 น. Earl, Thanks for responding to my post. I had Picasa 3 for Mac in my old Mac (white laptop 2nd generation mac) and the hard drive crashed.

The way that the pictures uploaded so tremendously fast, I'm pretty sure they were not just saved to my computer but to the web as well. But when the hard drive crashed, the pictures went with it and I didn't check again until I got another Mac laptop and downloaded Picasa. I'd imagine my pictures would be recovered, since, as far as I was convened, they were saved on the Picasa web albums. Granted, I assumed that and do I was not 100% sure.

How can i restore my albums on picasa 3.0.5 for mac

Obviously, I admit fault and responsibility for not storing them somewhere else as well, but you must understand, I thought I was storing them on my computer and on the web through Picasa. This happened 6, 7 years ago and then google plus came along. Thanks for your help. Paulo N Susie N 18/3/2016, 23:16 น. @Dennis Is it possible that the missing photos were uploaded to another account? Since the introduction of digital photography (which makes it dead simple to keep multiple copies) more people than ever loose their photos because they keep only a single copy on a medium that is vulnerable or can be stolen, or they upload them to the cloud, loose or delete the original and forget the password or create a new account and finally blame Google. NEVER rely on a single copy.

Dcfontes7 26/6/2016, 14:21 น. In the link you submitted I see nothing. I should only see public albums, and maybe a few system albums like 'Profile photos', but you may not have any of those. If you had two accounts you can add photos from one account to the other by 2 methods:.

download from account 1 (if you do not have them anymore on a computer) and upload to account 2. create a shareable link in account 1, open the link in account 2, and add the photos to the library (icon with cloud and down arrow) and (if wanted) to an album.

Jnthnmltn 17/8/2016, 8:27 น. After much searching I found perhaps a solution to import to the old Picasa (a computer pc place downloaded their copy after my PC was wiped out) and luckily I found my web album intact but wanted to import them to the now retired Picasa. (great for beginning photo editing which can not be done in google+ UGH). I went to do so and over 1k files so going to wait (taking a break after searching again for days) before doing so. Not sure if it will work. Older link (and hence the familiar but now gone (download, open, or edit in Picasa is not an option). But in Picasa under file there is an import and import from google photos???

Or maybe I am not wanting to try it just yet in case it does not work, lol. Really disappointed as most are in google retiring Picasa for a plain Jane no nothing product which is like others. Just as Yahoo ruined yahoo finance and other yahoo products including the older great flickr seems Goodle is doing the same. How to get your photos out of Flickr, Picasa Web AlbumsPicasa Web Albums Thanks to Google's, getting a big dump of your photos out of is a laughably easy task. If you use Picasa software on the desktop, just pull down the File menu to Import from Picasa Web Albums, and in the words of Steve Jobs: boom. You can still access those photos through the Web, though, either individually or on a per-album basis. But if you want to download them an album at a time, you'll still need Picasa on the desktop (go to the Download menu from your album and choose Download to Picasa).

Groupreebee 27/8/2016, 15:04 น. It has been along time since I used Picasso. To my horror no matter how hard I tried I cannot retrieve my Albums. I being diagnosed with a incurable Cancer, Breast & Lymph nodes. Undergoing Mayjor Surgery followed by Chemo and Radiation.

I am now in remission. I say all this, to stress the importance of retrieving these Photos. They may not be perfect but to me they mean everything. Please, Please help find my Photo's They are my Life! Kind Regards Susan Bastow. Janvb 4/2/2017, 20:26 น.

@NiceD In pribciple Google did not delete data. I have about 350 old Picasaweb albums and they are all there. We are just users trying to help other users, so there is not much more we can say. When you are sure that you now sign in to the same Google account used in the past, they should be there (see my former post). What do you see when yuo sign in to your account on or? A reason for missing photos may be that you deleted them somewhere else, for example from a tablet of smartphone, not knowing that it would delete them everywhere (except from computers).

Also not all albums are shown all the time, but they are still there and may show up later. And of course we cannot exclude that something went wrong at Google's servers. The only real safety is having two (not synced) copies in different locations. Why do'nt you have a local copy of these photos anymore? Sussie Madsen 5/2/2017, 11:19 น.

It is over a year since I logged onto Picasa to see my hundreds of precious photos that I stored to Picasa over 5 years. I have been on the move for a year & a half so missed the info about you closing it down.I used to just log in by using the Picasa icon on my desktop screen which opened my photo files. I have set up a new account as instructed to do with Google - the photos have not been transferred.

I cannot remember my old password for the previous Google account. What should I do as those pictures are so precious. Janvb 16/2/2017, 22:43 น. It was a catastrophe for most people when Google took over Picasa! I loved Picasa and no matter what Google said, all of our pictures were not transferred to Google Pictures.

The only thing that saved me was that I had changed computers BEFORE Google pictures and still had the old computer. I was able to go to the old computer offline and copy all of my pictures to a disk.

How Can I Restore My Albums On Picasa 3.0.5 For Mac

A learning lesson: Don't leave important photos on your computer or smart phone. One just can't trust the programs IMHO RinusA 15/6/2017, 23:17 น. Please help with advice: I was devastated to read that Google had 'Closed down Picasa' - I thought that all my long life's records have disappeared. But I tried to search on the computer in every direction and - suddenly - all me old Picasa Albums and photos re-appeared. Do you know what is the actual and formal arrangement for preservation of the old Picasa albums?

Do I have to re-save them under a Google name? Or create a separate folder that will last for years? Or is there a way of transferring the albums intact to Google? I am sure you do not really want to know what happened to my Picasa but I will tell you anyway. A common occurrence where we live in the middle of the woods is to lose internet. One night after losing my internet and after I tried uncuccessfully for many hours to regain it a message popped up that asked if I would like to try to regain the internet plus clean up my computer by going back to the default settings. Or at least I think that is what it said.

That was a couple weeks ago. They promised not to lose any of my private info or lose any of my apps etc. It sounded risky but doable and I did it. I have lost Picasa. It seems to be nowhere.

Not in the Recycle Bin., etc. My 2nd worry is that they lost my Microsoft Word 2013 and replaced with the one that one must pay for. I am not interested in that and yet now I have no Microsoft Word because I do not want this thing.

I am only lucky that I already had installed OpenOffice and it seems to be working just fine.
